A true cult does this…
Cults disempower the individual and by doing that create dependency and weakness. Usually this is done by telling someone that there is something wrong with them. By saying they are a bad person, are in some way deficient or flawed, or by making a generalized negative assessment that human nature is sinful or perverted, they are able to manipulate and control the individual.
This describes popular thinking and official beliefs. The world’s thinking is cult-like, and this is why we are experiencing so many problems in the world today, such as Putin’s war in Ukraine, and division in America.

Traditional and mainstream paradigms, worldviews, ideologies and philosophies are cult-like
A cult is defined as a system of thought that takes power away from the individual and assigns it to a leader or philosophy. Because the metaphysical view invests the individual with the ability to create physical events, it is the opposite of a cult.
Traditional, mechanical views and resulting psychology prior to the theory of relativity are much more cult-like because they assign little or no power to the individual to influence or create reality.
Official paradigms, worldviews, ideologies and philosophies in place now need to change as our understanding of reality changes because of what the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics are telling us about reality.

One view — Internal Science (our term) also called the holographic theory of consciousness — is largely derived from Einstein's friend, David Bohm, and the other is mainstream physicalism. The two conflict; and all mainline sciences and contemporary mainstream psychology are based on physicalism.
Physicalism gives rise to survival of the fittest and evolution theory. Religions believe in physicalism and a corrupt physical world below a separate spiritual heaven. Religious worldviews assert that man is corrupt through the lens of original sin and evolution theory — cleaving two negative views together to reinforce what they believe to be the wickedness of human nature.
Because there is no time as we think of it, the theory of evolution is not possible. Einstein believed this (Click on link in article below). The 2023 physics discovery indicates the same.
One worldview says you cannot be trusted, and the other paradigm (ours) says you can. Both are right because whatever you believe, you create. However, the intrinsic truth is that you can be trusted. Do thoughts create matter? is not the right question
It is not a matter of individual scientists saying “Thoughts Create matter,” it is about opposing classic physics and its assumption that everything is physical. The entire established field of science is based on the great modern myth of physicalism and anyone who opposes it is degraded.
Only top physicists are strong enough to go against the current.
Classical physics and physicalism are opposed by Internal Science and holographic reality by David Bohm, Einstein’s colleague.

You can get lost trying to understand consciousness by reading scientific articles. I offer links to some excellent scientific studies as a courtesy to you only. I know in simple terms that the physical world is a projection we each create with our own consciousness. If four people enter a room, there are four rooms. I figured that out over four decades ago.
Consciousness is irreducible and is both individualized and part of an unbroken field. Quantum mechanics is the study of that field of energy. Your consciousness has very deep, eternal meaning that cannot be measured with a ruler, and so all scientific studies will miss that part of the picture.
All consciousness is of an equal, amazingly high grade; and just so you know, your personality and individuality will never be lost. Who you are will survive death. I am not a religious person, because I will add that you are also good, and most religions will say you are evil.
Ignorance is separation from truth, and it is the closest thing there is to evil. Our civilization has lost the secret for centuries and we therefore do not even know where we come from! That shows just how ignorant we are.
Our civilization has been reading reality backwards for thousands of years. You cannot understand reality by looking at the physical world because that world is a consciousness hologram that you are creating. If you follow most scientists, they will just get you more confused.

Quantum mechanics provides mathematical descriptions of the motion and interactions of atoms and subatomic particles. It is the foundation of quantum physics. Quantum mechanics affects metaphysics

Cult-like worldviews in place now cannot empower you
A worldview that is false and inherently disempowering cannot help you. If you want to advance yourself, achieve goals or find personal fulfillment, a worldview that promotes dependence on others, be it authority, government or experts, cannot help.
We do not generally think of official mainstream belief systems in the U.S. and our global civilization as being cult-like. However, quantum mechanics and its resulting metaphysical philosophy gives us an alternative way of thinking that when compared to established traditional views of reality reveals one monumental difference—the old philosophies disempower the individual.
Traditional paradigms are such that you are seen as having no or minimal control over what is considered to be external reality. Whereas metaphysical facts reveal that reality is not external at all, but is instead a projection and as such gives full power of control over events to the individual.
Established institutions attempt to control you because of two combined assumptions:
- Objects and events are seen as being separate and external to the individual and thus the individual is seen as having no fundamental control over events and outcomes.
- Traditional philosophies have a fundamentally low evaluation of human nature.
The basic defining nature of a cult is that it takes both perceived and actual power away from the individual and transfers it to the cult leader (or rules of the church and/or state). Obedience to authority is cult-like and is the opposite of autonomy (as in the Altruistic, Autonomous Movement by William Eastwood).
In traditional paradigms, the controlled person is seen as being untrustworthy by definition and thus dependent on authority and rules. The individual’s nature, for example, is seen as being intrinsically untrustworthy in both religion and Darwinism, the primary contributors to official mainstream worldviews. The individual is dependent on authority in both perception and in terms of being forced to follow laws, rules, etc. The individual is thus able to be controlled either by the cult leader or by church and/or state. It is suggested that this control is for the individual’s own good and for the good of society.
In traditional lines of belief, the individual is seen as being both bad and out of control (when they neglect to properly subjugate themselves to the rules of the state or cult leader which is seen as being good).

From a psychological standpoint, a sense of control over events is the determining factor in both mental health and effectiveness in life.
A person’s “locus” (a new term in psychology) is a belief that one can control one’s own life as opposed to the idea that life is controlled by outside factors which the person cannot influence. Locus of control is the degree to which they believe they are in control.
On this site and in all my work, the first thing I do is tell you that you are in control of everything because you create everything. Nonlinear thinking in particular, will give you maximum internal lotus of control. Thus, in comparison to traditional mechanistic worldviews, the metaphysical philosophy found here is the most liberating and healthy option. You will feel powerful and competent as well as worthy and altruistic as you employ it to create your life as an artist creates a masterpiece.
By its very nature it protects you from all cult-like thinking because it draws perceived and actual power away from cult philosophies that always seek to control their followers. And it cannot be argued that it is nonlogical because the greatest minds in history, such as Einstein’s friend David Bohm, have given us the quantum physics paradigm and resulting metaphysical philosophy here.
According to Wikipedia, Individuals with a strong internal locus of control believe events in their life derive primarily from their own thoughts or actions: for example, when receiving exam results, people with an internal locus of control tend to praise or blame themselves and their abilities. People with a strong external locus of control tend to praise or blame external factors such as the teacher or the exam.

The most liberating component of metaphysical philosophy is nonlinear thinking. Nonlinear thinking takes all the power away from myths about time that make us slaves to the past and lock us into situations we are seeking to liberate ourselves from. There are a lot of things that traditional science cannot explain that can be understood through the lens of Internal Science.

Science that confirms personal spiritual experiences
Bohm and Eastwood both give us a paradigm that eliminates contradictions between science and personal human experience.
Our traditional science tells us that a person's purpose is no more than to procreate to ensure the survival of our species — but many people have spiritual experiences that reveal there is far more meaning and purpose to a person's life — interpreted through their belief system.
Bohm's / Eastwood's paradigm says we have an inner reality that forms this world and thus can include personal spiritual experiences and the possibility of thoughts creating reality — experiences which when interpreted through Bohm's science would make perfect sense.
Physicist David Bohm, — who Albert Einstein called “a kindred spirit,” and whose Ph.D. thesis — being top secret and classified — was awarded at the University of California at Berkeley by none other than Robert Oppenheimer — tells us that our reality is a holographic projection of the mind.
Bohm's science suggests an inner source reality, and the possibility of a multidimensional framework of existence in which our reality is grounded and created.
Bohm explains that the empty space in the universe contains the whole of everything by introducing the concepts of the “implicate order” and “explicate order”. The entire universe exists first as an inner energy of unlimited potential. From an inner world of pure information and probable events, David Bohm says, the physical, observable phenomena unfold.
This unfolding of the explicit order from the subtle realm of the implicate order is regulated on inner levels of the mind according to what is believed by the conscious mind.
Bohm called everything — both the implicate order and the explicate order together — the holomovement.
Eastwood employs Bohm's paradigm to solve world problems.
